My photography journey began some time ago. It was in Mr. Cooper’s photography class at Nevada Union High School in my junior year that I first fell head-over-heels in love with photography. I followed my passion in college to The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan , and then back again to California where I finished out my Associate’s Degree in Photography and later, my Bachelor’s in English. During that time I worked as an assistant at several photography studios and photographed friends and weddings on the side. But it wasn’t until years later in 2006, with the encouragement of friends and family, that I decided to make it official and opened Laura Lynne Photography.
Since that time, my little studio has grown with a family of clients that now includes babies, children, families, seniors and commercial clients such as the Sacramento Kings and Monarchs, MetroPCS and Linde Lane Tea.
2009 marked a big change not only in my personal life but for my business as well. Late last year, I moved my ‘little’ home-based business into a 1,500 sq ft commercial warehouse. At about the same time, my spouse and I split and I became a single mom with three little kids. These changes have made me refocus myself as an artist and business woman. Although its bit bumpy at times, it’s making me stronger and helping me define who I am and what I have to offer. I feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity in life to make my passion also the source of my income. And I’m thrilled to be on the road with so many amazing artists including this extraordinary group of women – The Pixel Chicks.
